WINE CHARMS BY ELLIE:
Of course, we find her charming because she’s our
10-year-old daughter, but now you can be wine-charmed by Ellie.
She’s been creating her own line of hand-beaded wine
charms. A mix of colors, styles and pricing, ranging from a very affordable
$3.50 to $12.00 per set.
Chicken and Egg Update
Unfortunately, we’ve lost 3 birds in the last week to
predators. Yes, a fox or a fisher finally found us, so for now, the birds are
not free ranging and our production is down a little. On the positive side, we
have moved to all organic food thanks to a tip that Agri-Coop in Coleman blends
their own organic chicken feed.
Also, the 3 young hens, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum and Tonto should be coming into
production soon. It turns out the Lone Ranger is aptly named as he is our only
rooster now. With the change to organic food, the cost will be $3.00
per dozen. Thanks to everyone who has supported this venture!

Garden Update!
The organic garden is in! When you visit Woodhaven
you will see on the parking lot level that we’ve expanded our gardening space by
40% this year. This has allowed us to add additional items this year for your
enjoyment, including 3 different kinds of potatoes, sweet potatoes, red cabbage,
pumpkins, blueberries, and several new kinds of squash. We have approximately 10
different varieties of tomatoes and 2 kinds of eggplant. We’ve already been
enjoying arugula, salad greens and radishes. In order to share the garden to its
maximum advantage this year, we’ll be doing many soup, salad and side courses as
"chef’s choice", so we can offer what is at its absolute peak.
A Few of My New Favorite Things I Want to Share
with You:
Joan White’s new book, "Pictures in Wood."
More than a coffee table book, it’s an intimate look
at the artist’s 25-plus year career and what she sees as her "best work so far".
Learn what inspires her to paint her breathtaking images of the natural world,
using the natural grain of the wood which her husband Ken painstakingly prepares
for her.
A great gift at
$29.99.
Available at Nicolet Studio or Frame of Mind Gallery in Lakewood or here at
Woodhaven.
